After the final betting round, remaining players reveal their hands and the best five-card hand wins the pot. If all others have folded earlier, the last player takes it uncontested — no reveal needed. That asymmetry is the engine of the whole game: betting wins pots without cards, because fold equity is real equity. Most hands end this way, not at showdown.
